Genealogy

My family tree contains about 20,000 people and 3,800 ancestors and can be viewed at GeneaNet. Every individual has been verified to an ever-increasing standard of correctness. I am about 48% English, 3% Scottish, .5% Welsh, 2% Irish, 23% German (mostly Swabian with a small amount of Palatine and North German), .5% Swiss, 17% Dutch, 4% French, and 1% Norwegian, with trace modern times amounts of Danish, Swedish, and Belgian. I am a member of the oldest extant White family in the United States and a descendant of Congressman Cornelius Schoonmaker (b. 1745). I am a descendant of the Adams, Van Buren, Jackson, Grant, Cleveland, Roosevelt, Clinton, Bush, Hamilton, and Jay families. In addition, according to oral tradition, I am a descendant of Senator Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, under the alias Follansbee Carroll.

I am a descendant of at least one founder of the following settlements:

In addition, I descend from a very early settler of Salem, Massachusetts.

I descend from two governors of the Plymouth Colony, a governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, a governor of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, a governor of the Connecticut Colony, sixteen Mayflower passengers, six signers of the Flushing Remonstrance, over a dozen founders of the Kingston, New York Old Dutch Church, and all seven New Paltz, New York patentee surnames. I am a collateral descendant of the Director-General of New Netherland.

I have a small percentage of post-colonial British Isles immigrant ancestry, from which I descend from a modern Speaker of the House of Commons, a member of the Irish Parliament, and an Archbishop of Dublin.

My closest royal descent is from James II of Scotland (b. 1430).
